Meet Stevie Lyon

Hi there, my name is Stevie and I'm the founder of Sense-a-Story.  I'm a mum of three and a story lover! As a pupil support assistant, I have ten years' experience supporting children's learning and wellbeing in mainstream and additional support needs schools. My journey to becoming a qualified primary teacher is underway. I achieved a First-class BA (Hons.) Education Studies (Primary) degree in 2023, and I'm currently undertaking my Professional Graduate Diploma in Education (Primary). The learning and experience I've gained through being a mum, working and studying, and my love of reading have all come together and led to the creation of Sense-a-Story.

To put your mind at ease, I'm a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme, and a qualified first aider. I've also undertaken training in Food Safety, Allergens and Safeguarding, ensuring a safe and secure environment for all children.

Really looking forward to seeing you at a Sense-a-Story session soon!

Sense-a-Story's Values

At Sense-a-Story, our core values revolve around creating a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for all children. We believe in the power of stories to inspire, educate, and entertain. Our philosophy is centred on interactive learning, where children are active participants in the storytelling process.

Commitment to Inclusion

We are dedicated to creating an inclusive environment where every child feels welcome.

Interactivity

We prioritise creating an interactive experience where children actively participate in storytelling. Our approach ensures that they are engaged and involved and get the most out of the learning experience.

Focus on the Five Basic External Senses

Our unique style of integrating all five external senses into our storytelling sessions sets us apart. By engaging sight, sound, smell, touch, and taste, we provide children with a broad and immersive learning experience that stimulates their creativity and curiosity.
